סוכנות הידיעות רויטרס מעלה מידי יום את התמונות הטובות ביותר שהיא מקבלת מרחבי העולם, כשלכל תמונה סיפור מרתק. זו כנראה אחת הסיבות לכך שלסוכנות יש חשבון אינסטגרם מצליח למדי, עם 112,000 עוקבים. לקראת סוף שנת 2014 החליטה הסוכנות לפרסם את 29 התמונות הפופולאריות ביותר של השנה, בחרנו 10 מתוכן.

התמונות נבחרו מבין כל הפוסטים שקיבלה רויטרס ממשתמשים במהלך השנה, בהתבסס על כמויות לייקים ותגובות, כמו גם כותרות יוצאות דופן. ביניהן, אדם וכלבו קופצים לתוך הים בפיראן שבסלובניה - תמונה שזכתה לכ-2,500 לייקים ול-44 תגובות. תמונה מרהיבה מטרגונה סיטי מציגה את התחרות הדו-שנתית לבניית קסטל, מגדל אנושי, שהינה מנהג באזור קטלוניה. התמונה זכתה לכ-2,900 לייקים ול-27 תגובות, ביניהן מגיב שהביע תקווה ש"כולם שמו דאודורנט".

תמונה נוספת שקיבלה כ-2,600 לייקים סופקה על ידי נאס"א ומציגה אזורים פעילים בשמש, בצורה המזכירה פנס דלעת כפי שנהוג להכין לכבוד ליל כל הקדושים. תמונה נוספת שהגיעה ל-29 המובילות היא זו של "אדם סוחב דליים ריקים ממים למכירה בשוק של העיר בנגלור בדרום הודו". אותה התמונה עוררה תגובות בדבר השוני בין מדינות העולם ורבים היללו אותה בתור התמונה הטובה ביותר. תמונה נוספת שהיוותה לה תחרות היא זו מצפון וויילס, בה נראה צמח מטפס שמכסה קוטג' מקסים מהמאה ה-15 שהפך כולו לאדמוני לרגל הסתיו.
